What they actually want (must-haves)
  • Expertise & Hands-on experience in Agentic AI Tech stack primarily in Microsoft (Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Azure AI Document Intelligence) and Anthropic (Claude Cowork and Claude Code)
  • Advanced Python & Java expertise in production systems (testing, packaging, performance profiling)
  • Deep experience extending agent frameworks such as Anthropic, LangChain, and Foundry
  • RAG/agent data pipeline expertise: document preprocessing (OCR/NER), chunking strategies, embeddings, vector stores, and data quality/versioning
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of enabling and maturing AI in a SaaS landscape
  • Model serving and cost/perf optimization: experience with model broker patterns, multi-model routing, and serving stacks
Nice to have
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Istio
  • Experience with AWS/ Azure cloud services or equivalent
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture
  • On-call experience with production grade systems
What the job really is

The Principal AI Engineer at PointClickCare will lead the design and implementation of AI systems across various SaaS solutions, focusing on establishing technical standards and reusable patterns. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive AI adoption, developing scalable AI solutions, and mentoring engineers to enhance AI maturity within the organization. The engineer will also be responsible for evaluating AI use cases and ensuring alignment with security and regulatory requirements.
