What they actually want (must-haves)

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical or computer engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years’ relevant industry experience in a high-volume consumer electronics system environment
Experience with schematic, PCB physical design using Cadence Concept and Allegro or similar CAD tools
Lab skills: oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, electronic loads, etc.
Ability to work with firmware codebases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

Specific expertise in multiple of the following areas: CPU or GPU microarchitecture, batteries, power management, analog design, audio, wireless, DisplayPort, HDMI, PCIe, Thunderbolt, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, analog sensors, interconnect
Statistical data analysis and visualization (ex. JMP) is a plus

The Senior Hardware Systems Engineer at Verra Mobility will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining complex hardware and firmware systems. Daily tasks include developing technical specifications, performing validation tests, conducting field failure analyses, and collaborating with third-party manufacturers and firmware teams to enhance device performance and functionality.
