What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, credit risk, quantitative finance, or a related field within fintech, financial services, consumer lending, or a similar industry
  • Experience with credit risk, loss forecasting, portfolio analytics, valuation, or related financial-performance frameworks
  • Working knowledge of risk capital or structured finance concepts, such as securitizations, warehouse facilities, forward-flow programs, or investor reporting

What the job really is

As a Staff Credit Analyst at Upstart, you will focus on high-impact credit analytics that support portfolio strategy, financial planning, and funding decisions. Your role involves developing credit analytics for monitoring and forecasting, conducting loss forecasting and scenario analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate complex credit dynamics into actionable insights. You will also work on building data models and improving analytical tools to enhance credit performance management.
