What they actually want (must-haves)
  • High school diploma or state-recognized equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment
  • Knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control)
  • Capable of installing and maintaining various alarms, access control, and assessment system devices
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Nice to have
  • Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control preferred
  • Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, Exacq preferred
  • Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks
  • Ability to obtain required state low-voltage/security licenses as required
What the job really is

As a Security Installation Technician at Unlimited Technology, you will be responsible for planning and performing installations of security systems, including access control and IP cameras. Your role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and effective communication with project managers and clients. You will work independently and ensure that all installations meet safety and quality standards while keeping the work environment organized and safe.
