Minimum three (3) years of practical automotive industry experience
Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, repair procedures, and industry safety standards
Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and teach both day and evening classes

Nice to have

ASE Certification equal to the level of classes taught (preferred)
No prior teaching experience required

What the job really is

As an Automotive Technician Instructor at Tidewater Tech, you will deliver instruction in automotive technology both in classroom and lab settings. Your role includes maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, monitoring student progress, supporting curriculum development, and participating in professional development activities. You will also communicate with the Program Coordinator regarding student concerns and perform other duties as assigned.
