What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 5+ years' experience within Operations or Middle Office in an investment bank, hedge fund, commodity trading firm or similarly sophisticated trading environment
  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and experience supporting listed and/or OTC derivatives
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong appreciation of operational risk
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong analytical skills and curiosity to challenge existing processes
  • Collaborative team player who can operate independently
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of commodities, particularly futures and options
  • Experience across energy, gas, power, physical commodities or Japanese energy markets

What the job really is

As an Operations Analyst in the Energy Trading business at Qube Research & Technologies, you will be integral to the trade lifecycle, ensuring accurate and efficient support for energy trading activities. Your responsibilities will include trade capture, reconciliation, and collaborating with various teams and external partners to resolve operational issues. You will also identify process improvement opportunities and support new products and markets as the business evolves.
