  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Engineering
  • 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement/contracting, and construction management within the power generation, utility, and transmission industries
  • Experience with the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems
  • Experience leading projects in a cross functional team from initial feasibility evaluations to late-stage development, design, engineering, and construction
  • Understanding of key project development elements, including real property, permitting, regulatory matters, environmental compliance, interconnection, transmission, and related areas
  • Strong understanding of the battery energy storage value proposition and/or the engineering fundamentals of battery energy storage projects

What the job really is

The Senior Project Engineer will provide technical engineering support for the design, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale battery energy storage projects. This role involves overseeing technical deliverables, collaborating with third-party engineering firms, managing supplier and contractor relationships, and assisting with project scopes and RFQ/RFP packages. The engineer will also travel to project sites and engage with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
