Office of the General Counsel Externship [For-Credit] – Spring/Summer 2027

The Office of the General Counsel Externship at NPR offers law students the opportunity to engage in various legal practices, including conducting legal research, drafting documents, and participating in client meetings. Externs will gain exposure to issues related to commercial and contract law, nonprofit tax, intellectual property, and employment law while working remotely or on-site. This externship is designed for course credit and may include a stipend through the student's law school.

• Course Credit: This externship is designed to be a learning experience for law students for which school credit must be obtained.
• School-sponsored Stipends: During the summer, this externship may alternately be compensated through a program in which the student receives a stipend from their school for non-profit work.

• This is a for-credit externship, which may limit candidates who are not seeking academic credit.
• The compensation is not a traditional salary, as it is based on course credit or stipends from schools.
• The role may require occasional travel, which could add complexity to remote work arrangements.
