What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with low latency, highly available distributed systems and the network architectures needed to run them
  • Understanding of layer2 and layer3 network protocols e.g. IGMP, MLAG, ARP, BGP, NAT, PIM
  • Understanding of IP multicast routing e.g. PIM-SM, PIM-Bidir
  • Experience with network operating systems (EOS, IOS, PanOS)
  • Understanding of timing protocols NTP, PTP
  • Understanding of various optical fiber types and transceivers
Nice to have
  • Scripting experience (Python, Ansible) preferred
  • Mac, Linux familiarity preferred
What the job really is

The Network Engineer at MEMX will work on the design, implementation, and maintenance of low latency trading infrastructure during the second shift from 4 PM to 1 AM ET. Responsibilities include configuring network devices, responding to alerts and incidents, performing customer connection turn-ups, and collaborating with security and business teams to implement secure solutions.
