What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 5 years of experience in failure analysis, field quality, warranty engineering, product engineering, reliability engineering, laboratory testing, validation engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience leading structured root cause investigations involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, software-integrated, or electromechanical systems
  • Hands-on experience performing component inspections, teardown analysis, failure reproduction, and engineering validation testing
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications.

  • Experience supporting automotive field quality, warranty engineering, customer issue management, or product investigation teams
  • Experience with battery-electric vehicles and related systems, such as high-voltage batteries, electric drive units, charging systems, thermal systems, body systems, or vehicle electronics
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics, DTC analysis, CAN communication, telematics, and data logging tools
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment, such as environmental chambers, data acquisition systems, electrical test equipment, vibration systems, and durability testing equipment
  • Knowledge of materials analysis, fracture analysis, metallurgical evaluation, reliability engineering techniques, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, or automotive product development processes
What the job really is

As a Senior Field Quality Laboratory Engineer focusing on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) at Lucid, you will lead investigations into customer-reported quality concerns, analyzing returned parts and vehicle data to identify failure mechanisms. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to improve investigation processes and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented, ultimately enhancing product quality and customer experience.
