What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering, configuring, and engineering on the ServiceNow platform
  • Demonstrated experience standing up new ServiceNow instances or leading instance-level builds and migrations
  • Strong scripting ability (server-side and client-side JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes)
  • Experience with MID Server installation and configuration, and with platform integrations using REST/SOAP web services
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Familiarity with federal security and compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, STIGs)
Nice to have
  • Prior experience in federal or defense contracting environments, particularly in classified, air-gapped, or otherwise isolated networks
  • ServiceNow CAD (Certified Application Developer) or a CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist) certification
  • Hands-on experience with CMDB, ITOM, or Discovery
  • Experience with release coordination, version control, environment management, and automated testing strategies, including the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF)
  • Experience supporting Windows Server implementation, upgrades, and integrations as required by the environment
What the job really is

The ServiceNow Platform Engineer at LightFeather will be responsible for building and managing a new ServiceNow environment for a federal program. This role involves configuring, securing, and maintaining the platform, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and readiness, and supporting module implementation and upgrades. The engineer will also engage in Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage development work and participate in technical discussions.
