What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 7+ years supervising high-voltage substation, switchyard, or transmission construction (69kV-345kV) with a utility contractor, EPC, or utility construction organization
  • Hands-on knowledge of substation construction practice: major equipment setting, bus fabrication, grounding grids, control wiring, and commissioning support
  • Direct experience coordinating utility outages, switching, clearances, and energization
  • Familiarity with relay and protection testing sequences (NETA, end-to-end) and utility acceptance/witness processes
  • Uncompromising HV safety leadership: switching and tagging, MAD, grounding and bonding; OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience managing specialty HV subcontractors and NETA testing firms
