  • M.Sc. or PhD in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in navigation, guidance or state estimation development
  • Very good skills in Matlab/Simulink
  • Solid background in state estimation theory, aerodynamics, stability and control, and systems modelling
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting findings
  • Solid software engineering skills, writing clean and well-structured code in Matlab and/or languages like Python, Rust, Java, or modern C++

What the job really is

As a Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer at Helsing, you will develop and validate algorithms for state estimation, navigation, and guidance for UAS platforms. Your daily tasks will include designing and testing controllers, simulating algorithm performance, analyzing sensor data, and collaborating with various engineering disciplines to enhance UAS capabilities. This role emphasizes both technical innovation and ethical considerations in defense technology.
