What they actually want (must-haves)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in BMS/controls engineering, ideally on mission-critical or industrial facilities
  • Working knowledge of controls programming and configuration (e.g., Niagara, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar platforms)
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and controls points lists
  • Experience troubleshooting controls issues in the field, including wiring and logic-level diagnostics

Nice to have
  • Experience with data center-specific BMS platforms and UPS/switchgear integration
  • Direct experience supporting commissioning (Cx) activities, including FPTs and IST

  • Experience writing OPR/BOD documentation
What the job really is

As a Controls Field Engineer at Giga, you will be responsible for managing the building management systems (BMS) and controls systems essential for data center operations. Your day-to-day tasks will include writing and reviewing control sequences, programming controllers, troubleshooting issues in the field, and collaborating with the commissioning team to prepare systems for testing. This role requires significant on-site presence during critical project phases, with potential relocation to various construction sites as needed.
