What they actually want (must-haves)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and the ability to develop robust, maintainable software designs
  • Fluent in C and C++
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in an embedded systems environment is preferred; candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong technical aptitude and relevant experience are encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge of embedded hardware interfaces and communication protocols, such as CAN, SPI, I2C, PWM, UART, USB, ADC, DAC, Ethernet, and Modbus
  • Experience with the full product design and development lifecycle, including requirements definition, software architecture and design, implementation, integration, testing, configuration management, and defect tracking
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of electric vehicles (EVs) and/or EV charging systems
  • Experience with FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Experience with FPGA and FPGA-based systems
  • Exposure to Yocto Project and embedded Linux build systems
  • Background in electronics and digital signal processing
What the job really is

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Electreon, you will develop complex firmware for wireless electric charging systems deployed on roads and vehicles. Your role involves working on multiple projects, collaborating with hardware engineers, and taking ownership of the entire device software lifecycle, from low-level software to embedded applications. You will also design and execute test systems and develop documentation for various engineering tools.
