What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 5–8+ years of project development experience within the energy, natural gas, industrial, infrastructure, hydrogen, carbon capture, renewable fuels, or clean technology sectors
  • Experience supporting or leading the development of natural gas, blue hydrogen, carbon capture and sequestration, industrial gases, energy infrastructure, renewable fuels, or other low-carbon industrial projects through key project milestones
  • Demonstrated understanding of project development processes, including permitting, site selection, utility coordination, natural gas supply or infrastructure diligence, CO2 transportation and sequestration considerations, commercial contracting, and stakeholder management
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex project issues into clear recommendations and action plans
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with carbon intensity, emissions accounting, carbon capture performance, CO2 storage or offtake pathways, and related regulatory or incentive frameworks
  • Experience in green hydrogen, blue hydrogen, industrial gases, renewable fuels, e-SAF, methanol, ammonia, carbon capture, or related industrial decarbonization sectors
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
What the job really is

The Manager, Development will oversee the development of large-scale low-carbon hydrogen and fuel cell projects, guiding them from conception to Final Investment Decision (FID). This role involves managing project schedules, coordinating cross-functional teams, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy project development and a passion for decarbonization.
