What they actually want (must-haves)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, OR equivalent experience with relevant IT/networking certifications
  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration, lab operations, or a similar technical support role
  • Strong hands-on experience administering and patching Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows, and macOS systems
  • Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting and building automations for repetitive systems administration workflows

  • Experience designing and deploying virtualization / VM infrastructure (VMware, KVM, Proxmox, or Hyper-V) at scale
  • Familiarity with configuration management and fleet patching tools (e.g., Ansible, MDM, SCCM, Chef, or Puppet)
  • Experience supporting lab or test environments with mixed hardware and operating-system platforms
