What they actually want (must-haves)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in hardware, infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering roles within data centre, cloud, or high-performance computing environments
  • Deep understanding of server hardware, components, and fleet management technologies
  • Proficiency in Python or Ansible, with hands-on experience programmatically interacting with server BMCs using Redfish or IPMI (Redfish preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with hardware vendors and OEMs to evaluate, qualify, and deploy server solutions
  • Proven experience supporting production infrastructure, driving incident escalations through to root-cause resolution, and participating in on-call rotations
Nice to have
  • Experience bringing up new data centre regions or operating within customer/partner-owned facility infrastructure
  • Familiarity with GPU platforms and rack-scale systems (e.g., NVIDIA GB200 / GB300)
  • Experience with BMC technologies, firmware lifecycle management, and fleet-scale hardware qualification programmes
  • Strong Linux systems administration and debugging skills at fleet scale
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes-based services, observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and distributed production environments
What the job really is

As a Hardware Engineer for Server Infrastructure at CoreWeave, you will manage server hardware throughout its lifecycle, including provisioning and decommissioning. Your role involves automating hardware and firmware management, building monitoring systems, and troubleshooting hardware failures. You will collaborate with data center operations and vendors, and participate in an on-call rotation to support hardware escalations across EMEA and APAC.
