What they actually want (must-haves)
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping web applications to production
  • Working experience across both backend and frontend development, or strong depth on one side with genuine interest in growing into the other
  • Experience with a typed backend language — Go preferred; experience in Go, Java, TypeScript/Node, Rust, or similar with willingness to work in Go is welcome
  • Experience building web interfaces with React and TypeScript
  • Solid fundamentals in REST or gRPC API design, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and version control with Git

What the job really is
