What they actually want (must-haves)
  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in a technical field (Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related) graduated between Jul 2023 - Jul 2027
  • Deep learning experience with neural network architectures (RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers, TCNs) applied to time series data
  • Strong Python programming experience, familiarity with DL frameworks (PyTorch and/or TensorFlow)
  • Experience handling large-scale datasets efficiently
  • Solid foundation in math and statistics
  • Willingness to communicate in English at technical interviews
Nice to have
  • C++ knowledge
  • Prior exposure to time series-specific challenges (non-stationarity, autocorrelation, forecasting, sequence modeling)

What the job really is

As a Junior Quantitative Researcher at Akuna, you will focus on developing trading strategies using deep learning techniques applied to large-scale time series data. Your responsibilities will include designing optimization algorithms for portfolio construction and creating quantitative models to describe market behavior.
